Travel to/from Atami

Our family of 10 adults and 5 children (8,7,4,3,2) will arrive NAR 3/7/20 from U.S., overnight in Tokyo then be in Atami on 3/8, from here mainly to visit kawazu to view the early cherry blossoms, maybe hike the Odaru Falls and visit a wasabi farm. We will be in Atami until 3/11; do you have any suggestions for things to do? Researched travel from Tokyo to Atami on Shinkansen, not sure yet how to get from Atami train station to hotel, K’s HOUSE ITO ONSEN, then from Atami to next destination, Nagoya (or Nagano or other city? Not sure where better venue? We’ve never been to either city). We have been to Kyoto over 5 years ago. Our itinerary is quite open yet, and would like your opinion on where to go from Atami then to return to NAR for flights home on 3/15

Hi deanne
I had a check on google maps, and you can take the local JR train from Atami to Ito (24min) and then walk 7 min to the hotel.
This website might have some suggestions for local sightseeing in the Izu peninsula

In addition you could consider getting a tokyo wide 3 day pass (JR TOKYO Wide Pass | Fares & Passes | JR-EAST) but depends on where you go after Izu.
Nagoya is a small city with not many sightseeing spots.
Nagano prefecture is quite beautiful but may still be quite cold and not easy to get to from Izu.

Some alternatives could be mount fuji area (either Hakone or Lake kawaguchiko), or just explore around tokyo.

happy to help out with any other questions
