Hi,

I’m arriving in Tokyo in November only for a week, first question obvipsuly about the rail pass or which one is best, just sticking around Tokyo, maybe a day trip to Mount Takao, Would a JR Rail pass be a waste? Arriving into N airport

You won’t need a JR Pass if you are only going to be in Tokyo and heading out to Takao. You could consider a Tokyo Wide Pass, but a 24-hour metro pass or perhaps even individual fares - grab a Suica card to make riding the trains smoother - are your best bet.
