New Year in Japan

Hi! I really love this website and your youtube videos.
I’m spending 10 days in Tokyo, from the 30 of december to the 9th of January. We wanted to spend new year’s in a new way and we read here about the Fox Parade. They say registration is needed, but is it okay to go to watch and take pictures? (We don’t want to be disrespectful), also, Does public transportation function in New Years? We will be staying in Nakameguro and the parade is quite far.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Paloma! Registration is only needed if you want to join the parade in costume. It’s perfectly okay to go there as a spectator. You can take as many pics as you like! The trains will run all night from New Year’s Eve to New Year’s Day.
