New computer for wordprocessing

#1

My laptop has ‘kicked the bucket’ and I’m saving to buy a decent one, preferably Apple. As it’s this time of year (trip home coming up) it’s going to take a few months at least to afford a reconditioned model as seen in Shinjuku. Should I browse Akihabara? Is there anywhere that i can rent a laptop from in the mean time? Or failing that, anywhere with a QWERTY format keyboard (that I can touch type on) available to do word processing on? Thanks.

Akibakan in akihabara sells used Mac Hardware, here’s a map: http://www.akibakan-us.com/guide/shoplist/index.html Also the apple store itself sells refurbished models, see http://store.apple.com/jp/browse/home/specialdeals/mac (not sure if there’s an english version of this page, but they do have an english speaking sales phone line)
