I was wondering if there is any way I can share some onsen experience with my wife. I read that the Ohtakinoyu once was a mixed gender onsen, but according to the website this is no longer the case. Can anyone help?
There’s plenty of hotels and ryokan that have private onsen you can book, or rooms with an onsen attached to the room. Public mixed gender onsen aren’t very common.
