JR Rail Pass-Would it be useful?

Hi! I’ll be traveling to japan during early september , however im not sure if i would need the JR Rail pass.
My itinerary for the trip would be as follow:

Day1- FlyTokyo & transfer to osaka
Day2-osaka
Day3-osaka
Day4-transfer to kyoto
Day5-kyoto
Day6-kyoto
Day7-Transfer back to Tokyo
spend the remaining days in Tokyo (roughly around 5days in tokyo)

Looks like the only Shinkansen trip you’ll take is Kyoto/Osaka <-> Tokyo, in which case the JR Rail pass will not be worth buying.

There’s a discount Tokyo <-> Osaka Shinkansen ticket available for tourists see here, you could get that instead.
