Cherry blossom visit in April

Hi,

I will be visiting japan along with 3 of my friends in April first week in Japan for cherry blossom. I had a few queries about it.

  1. Can you please suggest any good cheap accommodations in Tokyo , Kyoto , Osaka and Hakone.
  2. Any must visit places in all of these places?
  3. When would be a good time to start booking for it , since it will be peak season then

I would suggest looking through our resources on these areas:

Osaka and Kyoto are only 30 min apart by train, so you may not need accommodation in both cities, but could use one as a base.

Hakone can be explored easily as a day trip from Tokyo, or an overnight trip.

If you are comfortable in a hostel, you can find dorm rooms to share quite cheaply.

It would be good to book asap, as accommodation fills up fast. In the next month or two, if at all possible.

There’s a few great places to see the cherry blossums

I personally liked in Tokyo:
-Chidorigafuchi either early morning or late late evening [they have rowboat you can rent but you’d have to go line up before opening time]
-Meguro river very early in the morning (less crowds)
-Shinjuku park (paid entry so ~less people)
-Ueno park (you can also line up to rent a swan paddle boat)
Accomodation wise, just anywhere close to a subway station is fine, you can buy a subway pass (1 or 2d) and go sakura-hopping.

Kyoto I’m not as familiar, but I liked philosopher’s path
