Me and my husband are moving to Japan soon and looking for cheap mobile phone plans. Does anyone know of any that are less than JPY2,000 a month? We only really use voice and SMS, we don’t need data/internet. So it’s kind of silly to get some extremely expensive plan when we barely use any of the stuff that comes with it…
This isn’t a proper answer. I was looking for similar info when I ran across your question. You may want to check out Softbank’s prepaid phones. Also, definitely get the ‘Line’ app. Given how much ¥ people waste on phones every day, TokyoCheapo ought to commission a proper article on this topic.
