Best way to find a job in Tokyo when needing a visa

I would ultimately love to move to Tokyo with my family. Just wondering what is the best way to approach finding work there. We would need visa sponsorship to move obviously, do you all recommend going on vacation first and using that time to look for work?

I ask because most jobs on gajinpot.com all say “must reside in japan” Cant reside in japan without a visa so kind of a double edged sword if you will…

What do you think?

That is true for a lot of jobs but you can find some that are willing to bring you over (like a lot of the teaching companies). May be worth looking for the larger foreign companies who have bases here and applying.

An alternative to Gaijin Pot jobs is Jobs in Japan, which has just relaunched http://jobsinjapan.com
