Sorry to be ‘that guy’ but I just want to double check with the experts.
I’ll be in Japan for 16 days, 7 of which I plan to stay in Tokyo before travelling kyoto-Osaka-Nara and returning to Tokyo.
This would require a 2 week JR pass should I wish to purchase one, Am I correct in thinking it wouldn’t be worth while? Thanks for any help

You’re correct, don’t by the 2 week pass it wouldn’t be worth while since you’ll only make one significant return journey (Kyoto and Osaka are just a short distance apart).
You’d be best off with the discount kyoto-tokyo shinkansen special discount ticket available to tourists, see this post for details:
