How to meet people in Tokyo

So there’s millions of people in Tokyo - but finding some to actually hang out with can be hard.
There’s online sites like meet-up for activities or tinder for… welll… tinder, but has anyone got any ideas for in-person things that can work?

The Tokyo bar crawl is a great way to meet other foreigners if you’re travelling alone/sick of your mates, and comedy shows can be a good way to meet people since it’s easy to have a drink and chat to someone about the show, but other than that?

For the most part, Japan doesn’t really have the same pub/bar culture as Europe where you randomly join other peoples conversations/groups, but there’s a few venues where this can happen. My current favourite is Commune 246.
